In 2019, he turned his full attention to music and now works full time as a performer/recording artist in London and throughout the UK. Max’s debut EP was released in 2024.

River Park

Season 1 Artist

River is a Toronto-based artist who primarily works in stop motion animation and creating concepts for exciting ideas. His goal in creation is to let it tell an interesting narrative. Stories that can touch people no matter their culture or background.

Gary Andrews

Season 2 Artist

Gary graduated from Exeter College of Art (UK) in 1983 and has worked solidly as an illustrator and animator ever since.

He spent most of the 80s working on commercials, followed by a spell with Disney Movietoons (including working on ‘Duck Tails the movie’). Following this he animated on the Beatrix Potter films and Wind in the Willows amongst others before finally finding himself series director on Fireman Sam (from 2007 – 2018) Since 2019 he has sometimes been directing Horrid Henry. He is still the voice director for Fireman Sam (and plays Gareth!). He has also worked on many shows as a storyboard artist.

Alongside the animation, Gary has worked constantly as an illustrator producing several children’s books, endless amounts of educational publishing, assorted advertising campaigns (including the fox character for Old Speckled Hen) and has a long-term association with satirical magazine Private Eye, where he has illustrated the ‘Sylvie Krin’ stories since the mid 1980s.

Gary’s work reached a wider audience in recent years via his ‘Dodleaday’ drawings on social media, which were a response to the sudden and untimely death of his wife, Joy in 2017. They explored the grieving process as well as looking at life as a single dad. This led to an appearance on the One Show (BBC), who commissioned him to produce a short, animated film (‘For Joy’) based on the doodles and also led to the publication of his book ‘Finding Joy’ in 2021.

He has given talks and led several workshops on the healing powers of art, and the use of drawing as a self-counselling mechanism – not only for the bereaved but also for veterans and people in the care system. He is a patron of the charities The Big Draw (wellbeing through creativity) and Jigsaw South East (child bereavement) as well as an ambassador for the charities Marie Curie and Winston’s Wish.

He started working with Mischief after his drawings were featured at the end of the ‘Mischief Movie Nights’. Since then he has drawn promos for their tours, often produces good luck cards for new casts and recently got to draw during rehearsals and backstage on ‘A Comedy About Spies’.

In his spare time, he directs and performs in local theatre. He doesn’t sleep much…
